Classic Duck Hunt Created in VR is Absolutely Amazing and Totally free

Remember the classic Duck Hunt game from Nintendo? It was one of the first games I played alongside Super Mario. Killing ducks is one of the most fun video game memories of my childhood and am sure, same is the case for many of you as well.

I just came across a particular video of Duck Hunt that took me down memory lane. The most amazing part of it is that a developer named Joseph Delgado has reshaped this classic into a VR game. How cool is that? He created the game for Global Game Jam 2016 in just 24hrs.

This is retro throwback overload!

So, this year at Global Game Jam, I decided I wanted to do something with VR. I’ve had an Oculus Rift DK2 for a while, but I never really got around to using it. I sat down for about 24 hours and made a fun little retro throwback to Duck Hunt on the NES. Check it out!

The gameplay looks fun and even in VR it remains true to what it was originally. Delgado says he will release the game for free because it is Nintendo’s property so he can’t profit from it. However, I would have happily paid a significant sum for a VR Duck Hunt game, may be Nintendo should look into VR.
