On 1st of April, Sony will have its current CEO Kaz Hirai replaced by the current CFO Kenichiro Yoshida. The news has been made official earlier today by Sony and was first reported by Japan’s Nikkei.
As soon as the current CEO Kaz Hirai is replaced he will become the chairman of the company. This is very similar to the replacement of the previous CEO Howard Stringer who also became the chairman of the company when he got replaced by Kaz Hirai.
Kaz Hirai has had a really promising career, looking back at his successes he underwent multiple promotions before he actually became CEO of Sony. From Executive Deputy President to Sony Computer Entertainment Chairman and then CEO of the company. It is a fact that Sony company has actually been grooming him before he became CEO of the company.
Similar is the case with the next CEO of Sony, Kenichiro Yoshida since he rejoined the company in 2013 has been somewhat of a major player for the company. His major priority on PlayStation business really proved better for the company.
Yoshida will be introducing new plans as soon as he takes control, for the future of the company in which he also has plans to restructure the management. Restructuring the management might be a good idea but there are always some repercussions that can be expected. Let’s hope he also has taken that into account.
We all know that Harai will be leaving Sony comparatively in a better state than when he took control as the CEO. Let’s hope Yoshida takes this further, the company and the Current CEO Kaz Hirai has faith that he is the next right person for the job.
Yoshida added that his major priority is to finalize the company’s mid-range corporate plans with immediate business plans for the fiscal year 2018.
