It is hardly surprising to know that the official Capcom Cup 2017 schedule will be packed with more than just the competitive matches of Street Fighter 5. The conclusion of the year-long Capcom Pro Tour is always a splendid opportunity for the company to talk about things to come, as we have seen consistently in the past.

Posting on the official PlayStation Blog earlier today, esports social media manager Michael Martin confirmed that Capcom will be unleashing “special announcements” during the grand finals.

While they are naturally being hidden to not lose the element of surprise, there is enough solid speculation on what to expect. Capcom will firstly be giving away more details about the upcoming Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition, which will also be present on the show-floor for attendees to try out for the first time.

In addition, the fighting game community is ready to see Capcom announce another character pass for the third season of the game. The ninja grandmaster Zeku was the last playable character to arrive this year for Street Fighter 5 and there are already strong rumors for what could grace the roster next year. This includes the addition of Sagat and Sakura, at least one of which could be released this month, and new stages among other things.
