Returning to its roots has worked remarkably well for Call of Duty WW2 as it continues to be the best-selling game in the UK Charts for six weeks in a row.
According to market research company GfK Chart-Track, the impressive streak in the region has now matched Call of Duty Black Ops 3 from a couple of years back. Should Call of Duty WW2 lead the UK Charts for another week, it will officially set a new record for Activision.
The complete top ten list of games for the UK Charts can be found below. They only account for physical copies sold, and not digital.
- Call of Duty WW2
- FIFA 18
- Star Wars Battlefront 2
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Assassin’s Creed Origins
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
- WWE 2K18
- The Sims 4
- Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2
It should be noted that there was a 41 percent drop in sales week-on-week but it was still not enough to dethrone the latest installment from Sledgehammer Games. This is primarily because of the lack of competition from any other major release.
Call of Duty WW2 also sold 76 percent more copies than FIFA 18. The feat may or may not have to do with the fact that prevailing issues in the new football simulation installment called out for boycott last month.
Interestingly, Star Wars Battlefront 2 jumped a rung from last week. It appears that controversy surrounding the sequel is finally subsiding. Either that or it has to do with Star Wars: The Last Jedi hitting theaters this month.
