A Destiny 2 reveal livestream has been announced by Bungie on Twitter today, and will be happening on June 6 to showcase the next chapter of the game. The stream will be held at 10 A.M. Pacific Standard Time. While we don’t know what it’s going to be yet, hopefully it will be interesting.
Destiny 2 has come a long way from when it first launched back in 2017. After a launch plagued by a lack of content and too much emphasis on microtransactions, various events by Bungie, a steady stream of new content, and better writing have gotten the game back on track.
This past year, after the release of the Forsaken DLC, Destiny has been dominated by three different “seasons” that were released in lieu of expansions like the first Destiny game. Each season focused around a particular character, and did things like introducing players to the Black Armory, showing the origins of the entities known as the Nine, and now inviting players back to Calus’s Leviathan.
With each of these seasons came the promise of new loot and old returning favorite weapons from the first Destiny, such as the hand cannons Last Word and Thorn, and the heavy machine gun Thunderlord. Along with that, various new pieces of multiplayer content also came out.
But the Destiny 2 reveal livestream will likely have a lot more to reveal than that, especially since the “Seasons” section of the game weren’t “true” expansions. This may be the start of Bungie gearing up for Destiny 3, especially after the company broke away from Activision several months ago.
Considering June 6 is just around the corner from E3, Bungie may hold off on giving us an actual trailer until around the time of one of the conferences. However, Bungie may want to keep all the attention of its fanbase on them for a little while.
Either way, if you’re wanting to know the direction that Destiny 2 is going next, you can tune into the Destiny 2 reveal livestream to show where Bungie is taking it next.
