One of the issues PC gamers have with Call of Duty games is the aim assist when playing with a controller. Even though nothing can match the accuracy of a mouse, having aim assist does give an advantage to the player. And this is something that needed to be addressed.
Thankfully, Black Ops 4 PC won’t have this issue, according to Treyarch. The developer took to Reddit to confirm that multiplayer and Blackout won’t have aim assist on PC when using a controller. Those who don’t know, Blackout is the new Battle Royale experience offered by Treyarch this year.
“Please tell me that Aim Assist will be off when using a controller on PC!”—The Black Ops 4 Internet
We can do that!
We’ve been asked this question a number of times and can now set the record straight. Aim Assist with controllers will be OFF on PC in competitive PvP modes (meaning Multiplayer and Blackout).
As always, note that we’re also still pre-Alpha and continue testing and tweaking to ensure the most efficient processes are in place. To that end, we expect Aim Assist with controllers to be available in Zombies mode but continue to test for gameplay and security reasons.
It’s really that simple!
Zombies mode is the only one expected to have aim assist when using a controller with Black Ops 4 PC. Black Ops 4 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC. Pre-orders for the game are now live on multiple platforms. More details about the game are going to be shared at E3 2018 during Sony’s press event.
Speaking of Sony’s E3 2018 press event, the entire lineup was leaked recently and parts of it were later confirmed by Sony.
