The Xbox One X will be out in a couple of weeks and it will be the most powerful console till date. Ark: Survival Evolved developer is making sure that they utilize the capabilities of the new hardware to its max. They’ve announced an Xbox One X version of the game that will support new graphical improvements.
Ark: Survival Evolved will run flawlessly on the Xbox One X console, but it doesn’t end here. This version of the game will support two resolution modes, one at 1440p resolution (2K) @ 30FPS and the other at 1080p resolution @60FPS. The game will not support 4K resolution for now but will support High Dynamic Range.
Ark: Survival Evolved is graphically demanding game on all platforms but it was because of the extra powerful processor and 60-70% more RAM compared to the Xbox One helped to eliminate memory issues. Even the PS4 Pro doesn’t exclusively utilize its hardware to push up to 60 frames in the 1080p resolution. But Ark team is doing that with the Xbox One X.
Wildcard studio clarified that this will ensure faster loading times and better streaming due to a faster hard-drive and the ability to cache data into RAM (coming November 7th) that will allow faster and better access to repeat files.
However a minor downside would be that Xbox One X will eliminate the host tether in local split-screen mode and will increase the tether range in non-dedicated mode, due to some CPU limitations. But they’re hoping that players will benefit from increased tethering range. Tethering allows connecting your Xbox console with Windows live account / PC without a Router.
Xbox Play Anywhere and CrossPlay will be delayed till November as the team behind Ark: Survival Evolved will be thoroughly testing the online gameplay anti-cheat system. By ensuring BattlEye functioning on MS platform. It will take a month approx before crossplay will be enabled.
Rentable servers will also be available on Xbox starting on October 25th, supplied by Nitrado. ARK: Survival Evolved is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. 1080p 60 Frames per second with HDR on such an graphically demanding game is a delightful news!
