AMD Raven Ridge APUs are pretty interesting and we have seen how well these two upcoming chips can perform. The AMD Raven Ridge 22400G features 4 cores and 8 threads. Other than that the chip will cost $169. The little brother 2200G features 4 cores and 4 threads but costs $99 which is great value for money considering what we have on the market.
While the price is right, the performance is pretty impressive as well. You can check out the benchmarks of these chips below. You can also check out how well the chips run Tomb Raider here.
Keeping in mind the price, the AMD Raven Ridge APUs perform way better than the Intel HD integrated graphics as well as Nvidia MX 150 graphics as well. You can check out the benchmarks of the AMD Raven Ridge 2400G below. While these are official benchmarks from AMD these will give you an idea of what you can expect from these chips.
We have also got the first look at the boxes as well as the unboxing. You can check out the packaging as well as what you can expect to find inside the box in the images below:
The boxes are similar to the regular CPUs except for the silver band on top that reveals that the APUs feature AMD Vega graphics. You can also get a glimpse of the cooler that is included in the box. While this is a normal cooler, it is important to note that when it comes to the look and feel, it is much better than the stock cooler than Intel provides.
AMD CEO Lisa Su talked about the AMD Raven Ridge APUs and the following is what she had to say:
The Raven Ridge/Ryzen Mobile design was sort of like the first step, but we are nowhere near done with everything that can be done, so you are going to see that power profile get better and better as new systems come out. So yes, I am very optimistic about the whole, like I said, I am simply amazed with some of the things that you can do, or we can do with in partnership with the OEMs.
