The AMD Radeon RX 590 has been rumored for a while not. According to new reports, the graphics card will be available starting the 15th of November and will cost $300. The new AMD Radeon RX 590 will be able to provide 10% better performance as compared to the RX 580 and it will also consume 15% less power. We were also able to spot a listing regarding a custom RX 590.
We got a leaked benchmark recently that showed us the performance of the RX 590. This is a leak so we are not sure what the final performance will be like. But you can still check it out below:
The AMD Radeon RX 590 has popped up at an interesting time because we have just got confirmation that Nvidia is working in releasing a GTX 1060 version that comes with GDDR5X memory instead of the standard GDD5. Furthermore, it is also interesting to note that the graphics card is based on the GP104 GPU. This means that the graphics card is a cutdown version of the GTX 1080.
The cores and clock speeds are pretty much the same so we are not sure what this new graphics card will have to offer in terms of performance but it seems likely that it is going to compete with the AMD Radeon RX 590.
Nvidia RTX series was announced recently and the cards are selling pretty well. The least expensive option is the RTX 2070 that costs $500. So Nvidia does not have a mid-range mainstream option on the market right now.
Reports would have us believe that the GTX 2060 will not come out until next year. If that is the case then Nvidia might be looking to make do with a kind of a 1060 refresh. This might also be a way of getting rid of the Pascal yield that Nvidia has in the inventory.
It will be interesting to see how well the AMD Radeon RX 590 competes with the GTX 1060 GDDR5X. For more information regarding the matter stay tuned.
