Amazon Announces Mobile Masters Las Vegas Tournament With $80,000 Prize Pot

Amazon continues to expand its portfolio into competitive mobile gaming by hosting a second iteration of Mobile Masters next month in Las Vegas.

The event will take place at the newly built Millennial Esports Arena in Neonopolis and feature four different games: World of Tanks Blitz, Critical Ops, Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, and Vainglory. It will see the participation of a number of professional players from several notable teams such as Cloud9, Fnatic, Echo Fox, Immortals, SK Gaming, and Team SoloMid. They will all be fighting for a major share of an $80,000 prize pool.

“With the Mobile Masters tournaments, Amazon is widening its lead in mobile esports, making competitive gaming more easily accessible for a growing number of mobile players and viewers alike,” the press release reads. “Amazon offers its developer partners and customers an increasing array of activities and events which promotes the rapidly expanding community of competitive mobile gaming, and invites players of all levels to participate and compete for rewards and prizes.”

Mobile Masters Las Vegas (MMLV) will not be charging for entry. In addition, attendees will be randomly selected to receive special prizes during the event. Furthermore, the competition can be streamed on Fire TV devices by using the official Mobile Masters application. The Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) Sports Network will be airing a recap of the show at a later date after the event.

Maria Ho, professional poker star and veteran of The Amazing Race, will be hosting the tournament. She refers to herself as an “esports junkie” and recently hosted the Amazon Champions of Fire tournament last year.
