Notable leaker OsirisBlack from NeoGAF has unveiled that apparently we’ll be getting at least two new Xbox Series X games announced at this year’s E3, and that Microsoft’s E3 conference will be difficult for anyone else to beat. He claims we’ll be getting a new Rocksteady title, along with Killer Instinct 2.
OsirisBlack has a reputation as a trustworthy source, as before now he accurately predicted the specifications of the Playstation 4 Pro, and has previously brought up speculation about a sequel to Ready At Dawn’s The Order: 1886.
There have been a lot of rumors surrounding a new game from Rocksteady Studios over the past few years, with most people claiming that the studio was making a new Superman game at some point. However, nothing has materialized yet so who knows if that will continue into E3 2020.
Since Rocksteady had previously been responsible for developing the Batman Arkham games, all of which were critically acclaimed, it stands to reason that some might want them to eventually make a new game about a DC superhero, but for now the studio is mum on details on any Xbox Series X games.
As for the upcoming Killer Instinct sequel, he used what appeared to be character selection screen music as proof. Though considering there hasn’t even been a hint of Killer Instinct 2 lately, there’s no telling if he’s right on that, either.
Killer Instinct served as one of the Xbox One’s launch titles and has retained a sizable fanbase throughout the console’s life, and even got three characters from different game series to enter as guest fighters including the Arbiter from Halo, Rash from Battletoads, and General RAAM from Gears of War.
While we don’t know for certain what Xbox Series X games we’ll be getting on launch, only time will tell if a new Rocksteady title about a new superhero or a Killer Instinct sequel will be two of them.
