Breath of the Wild Sequel Release Date Still Far Away

The Breath of the Wild sequel currently in development so Nintendo has posted new job listings. The announcement of the Breath of the Wild sequel at E3 2019 made fans very excited.

The job listings were posted by the company on the Nintendo Japan careers page. The listings are for positions in the development team of The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild sequel. 3DCG terrain designer who will be designing terrain is one of these positions.

The other position is that of a level designer. They will work on a “series of tasks” which includes designing things such as game events and dungeons. The Breath of the Wild sequel development team has suggested that they will look towards Red Dead Redemption 2 for inspiration. This might mean that people who have worked on RDR2 will be more welcome.

The application deadlines for these positions is until September. Those hired will be on a three-month probation. Then they will have a chance to renew the contract and work on the game until development is completed. This again seems to confirm that the Breath of the Wild sequel is years away since the development team hasn’t even been completed.

This might be a cause of disappointment to some fans as the announcement has their hopes up. The listings are a strong indication that we may not see The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild sequel any time soon.

This is not necessarily a bad thing; Nintendo has previously talked about how it is against “Crunch Culture”. Game companies overwork employees to meet an early release date. Some game companies have started taking a stand against after media and community backlash. Besides, if a delayed release date means the emotional and physical well being of employees, we could not be more happy about it. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel is going to be a Nintendo exclusive.
