Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Isn’t Coming at Launch

CD Projekt RED has been working on the multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077 especially last year. However now Cyberpunk 2077’s Lead Quest Designer Paweł Sasko has been reported saying:

Yes, 100 percent. We’re not really working on multiplayer, our sole focus is single-player. We’ll do that, then we’ll see. We’re not saying no but we’re not saying yes. If something does happen it will definitely be post-launch and that’s as much as I can say right now. I mean we’re known for good stories, amazing characters, choices, and consequences. So this is something for sure we’d be going with if anything happened regarding that. We’d avoid anything that’s not that. If we do it, it’ll be our style”.In a time where multiplayer has become so commercialized and common, there are still games that focus more on single players.

Cyberpunk 2077 trailer took E3 2019 by storm despite lack of news on a possible multiplayer mode. Thanks largely to the cameo and promised appearance of Hollywood superstar Keanu Reeves.

The game promises to deliver intense story and action that is a blend of First person shooter and hack/slash melee combat. Due to the nature of this project, Keanu Reeves is the perfect fit for Johnny Silverhand. The Hollywood actor is known for amazing roles, like Neo from the Matrix, Jhon Constantine (2005) and the more recent Jhon Wick. Studio CD Red Projekt is also confident in its story and gameplay.

The possibility of Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer can never be eliminated. Multiplayer is too common a gaming feature nowadays to boost player engagement. Moreover, there are reports of CD Red Projekt RED developing the multiplayer mode for the past year. It is extremely likely CD RED will break multiplayer ground Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16, 2020. The RPG game is more than likely to arrive at Xbox Scarlett and PlayStation 5 as well.
