4Chan Leak Might Have Just Revealed Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok As Next Game

A 4chan leak might have just given us the title for Ubisoft's next Assassin's Creed game, called Assassin's Creed: Ragnarok to take us to Viking country.

Update: The leak is using assets from the Unity Store, hence, proven fake.

Original Story: We may be going north in the next Assassin’s Creed game, if a 4chan leak that’s now been preserved on ResetEra is true. According to that, Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok is the next game, and will be taking us north, among the Vikings of Scandinavia, to play Assassin’s Creed’s next chapter.

While there’s no official confirmation from Ubisoft yet (though the game did show up in a Division 2 easter egg), leaks about Assassin’s Creed settings have been correct before. The next upcoming Assassin’s Creed game was originally codenamed Kingdom, which fits with what the leak might have set about Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok.

The game will apparently be taking place not just in Scandinavia, but also in England. Set in the year 845 AD, players will take on the role of an Assassin once more, as an ally of Ragnar Loddbrok, one of the most fearsome Vikings in history.

Working with Loddbrok as he forms the Great Heathen Army to invade England, players will also be finding First Civilization relics such as Thor’s hammer Mjolnir, in a similar vein to the godly relics of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Conquest battles from that game will also be making a return.

Much like Odyssey, players will have access to a number of different areas divided by the sea, including the British Isles, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland. Players will also not have their hands held as much; if you want to experience things, you’ll have to get out and explore.

The existence of Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok was given further evidence as the 4chan leak came with a variety of screenshots. While they’re all obviously blurry and not that clear, we can definitely see various architectural and weapon styles that aren’t Greece or Egyptian.

Once again we’ll have to wait until Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok is officially announced to know if the leak is right, but hopefully when E3 rolls around this year we’ll finally know for sure.
