Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok Spotted In The Division 2 Easter Egg

Players have found a new easter egg in The Division 2 which hints that the next game in the series will be based on Viking setting.

The next Assassin’s Creed game will take us to the Vikings era, according to the easter egg found in The Division 2. This easter egg was discovered by a Youtuber named “JorRaptor” who believes that Ubisoft is hinting where they will be heading next in the series. The rumored Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok might finally be happening.

The interesting image which you take a look at below is of a poster in The Division 2, which features a Norse God dressed in black and white with a Norse-style helmet. Above him, there’s a text which says Valhalla (afterlife place in Norse mythology). The most interesting thing in the poster is that God appears to be holding the Apple of Eden artifact which is something series fans are familiar with.

Assassin's Creed Viking

That’s a big hint but again, take this all with a grain of salt until we hear something official from Ubisoft. It could be nothing but a random poster in the game. Although, the developer is known for including easter eggs in its games previous games like Watch Dogs but doesn’t mean that we can take it as a confirmed setting for next Assassin’s Creed game in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Ragnorak.

Though this adds another twist to the story as it’s been speculated from sometime that next AC game will be based on ancient Rome or the previous rumors of Assassin’s Creed game called Legion. It looks like Ubisoft has a lot of settings in mind which it is going to use sometime in the future if not in the next game.

Previously we reported that the developer is working on Assassin’s Creed codenamed “Legion” which is set in Italy and will launch sometime in 2020. The rumor came from a known source who claims that we will be able to play with two characters named Cassius and Lucia (descendants from Origins and Odyssey) in the upcoming game.

The source also said that AC Legion will be a cross-platform title as it will arrive on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 followed by Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Scarlett. There’s almost no confirmation to it so don’t get your hopes high just yet.

If the next Assassin’s Creed game is really in the works, we are likely to not hear about it from Ubisoft until 2020. The developer is currently busy enjoying the success of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and The Division 2 so there’s a lot of time for them to decide where they should be heading next in Assassin’s Creed series.
