The prayers of the fans of Command & Conquer games have been finally heard. Electronic Arts looks set to bring us remastered versions of Command & Conquer. The gaming community has been demanding them for quite a while now.
The publishers first made it public through an open post on Reddit discussion forums. Jim Vessella came out and addressed the elephant in the room as fans got eager to hear Command & Conquer news. She acknowledged the fact that EA has not been unaware of their demands.
But now the Chief Executive Officer of EA, Andrew Wilson has gone and confirmed the remasters. Earnings report of Electronic Arts for 2019’s second quarter, backs this confirmation. Wilson has revealed that Command & Conquer will indeed be coming out now.
Earlier, Vessella brought it to the fans attention that Command & Conquer Rivals is not a step back. Jim further admitted of being a fan of C&C as well while also being on the production team of the series. Jim teased the remasters back then for the 25th anniversary of the franchise by saying:
“Following the reveal of Rivals, we heard you loud and clear: the Command & Conquer community also wants to see the franchise return to PC. And as a fan of C&C for over 20 years, I couldn’t agree more. With that in mind we’ve been exploring some exciting ideas regarding remastering the classic PC games, and already have the ball rolling on our first effort to celebrate the upcoming 25th Year Anniversary.”
On top of that we good to hear even better words from EA’s CEO in a report for this fiscal year. Andrew Wilson confirmed the arrival of Command and Conquer remastered version in the latest earnings calls by stating:
“Our Command & Conquer team is not only delivering a great new mobile game, they are also working to deliver content for the franchise’s PC core.”
All the fans of C&C haven’t had much since Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances came out. So, lets hope this news turns out into something practical later. Command & Conquer Remastered was starting to look like a lost dream but now hope is well restored.
Meanwhile, fans were also assured that C&C remasters won’t have microtransactions. Still the project looks a long way to go so let’s hope C&C Rivals can give us an intense gaming experience till then.
