Rockstar has recently granted an ill gamer’s wish to play Red Dead Redemption 2. A guy named Jurian recently shared his story with the world to tell how Rockstar made his dream come true.
Sadly, Jurian suffers from Neurofibromatosis type 2. It’s a hereditary disease and more than 400 people are suffering from this same sickness in Netherland. Jurian is a fighter and he’s been fighting with this disease since his whole life but he’s now in his final stage.
He’s a very big fan of Red Dead Redemptio0 2 thus he wanted to play it as soon as possible so his father contacted Rockstar. Jurian was then reached out by Rockstar and they showed him a private demonstration of the game.
Unfortunately, I am in the last weeks of my life. I am finished. Since 2004 I have been fighting a chronic rare disease called Neurofibromatosis Type 2. Where there are many “benign” tumors in my body. I survived for a long time, but I’ve had enough of it now.
As I was waiting in suspense for Red Dead Redemption 2, my father got in touch with the publisher, if they had a copy earlier as an exception. Rockstar Netherlands wanted to give it but they were not allowed to, so they had contact with the head office, who quickly arranged something beautiful for me. At the end of the week, two employees of Rockstar Nederland came to my house and gave me a private demonstration of the game. After an afternoon of playing, they unfortunately took the game again.
Since I recently read an article about a similar case with Nintendo, I wanted to tell you. Since Rockstar has also done something beautiful.
It’s indeed such a beautiful moment in Jurian’s life and what a beautiful gesture from Rockstar. We need more of these kinds of people no matter how big or small their company is. There’s a lot everyone can do to make anyone happy and we are proud that Jurian is happy for what Rockstar gave him.
A similar gesture was shown by Nintendo when they granted a terminally ill fan’s wish to play Super Mario Bros. Ultimate.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on October 26 for PS4 and Xbox One.
