Although the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta has been dubbed as a slight achievement it still looks set to give tough competition to big occupants of the battle royale genre such as Fortnite. Fans laid forward various post-beta queries to know what Black Ops 4 Blackout mode is going to do differently than the beta once the full game launches.
David Vonderhaar was faced with one such question which has been on the minds of the players even more since the Black Ops 4 beta came out. The player count in Blackout saw several changes made by Treyarch when the beta was live. At start Blackout started with a reasonable count of 80 players, given that it was a beta version.
When the beta started to get reviews and feedbacks about the speed of Black Ops 4 Blackout, developers decided to stretch the player count to 88. For the remaining time of the beta, the number of players was constant at 88. However, just before it was seen to a close the limit was pushed to a 100 player to test the limit of Blackout mode.
Developers Treyarch only did so to know their capabilities before the full game is launched. According to Vonderhaar at Treyarch, the servers seem to run just fine at the 100 player count for Black Ops 4 Blackout. Furthermore, he mentioned that the 115 number of players in special event lobbies could be their final choice “for the fun of the lore”, as David says.
The term lore here refers to the number 115 which has a significance with previous titles as well. This number has been teased before on various occasions as well. However, the seasonal events have been reported to be available on selected platforms only.
It recently outdid Fortnite on Twitch which only goes on to show that the upcoming Call of Duty title is coming to shake things up in the gaming industry with its release nearing us in the month of October. Developers also wish to nerf the body armor for Black Ops 4 Blackout before its complete release.
