As you might have heard that this year, Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 Single Player Campaign will not happen (not the traditional one atleast). Treyarch announced that the game will ship out its Black Ops 4 without the single-player campaign. Instead, they will be focusing exclusively on competitive multiplayer and cooperative Zombies Mode. Treyarch has shed light on the matter and has attempted to explain why such a change?
We have had a fair share of rumors which did point us in this direction but back then it was not official. Although now not only is it official but the company has shared its reasons for why no single player campaign.
Well according to the studio co-head at Treyarch single player was never the prime focus, in fact, Black Ops 4 multiplayer has always been the plan.
According to Dan Bunting, studio co-head at Treyarch:
“When we set out to make this game, we never started with the idea that we would make a traditional campaign,” “That was just not part of our plan. We started from a place that we were gonna make a game that across the board can be playable with friends. That’s been our mission from day one.”
Furthermore, he added that as everyone is aware that over the course of development various evolutionary changes always happen with every game. He said that we want to challenge our conventions and try out different things.
Although most of the times those changes don’t work out but sometimes those things are bold, crazy and innovative. Which work things out, in fact sometimes those new changes become the new trendsetter. This is what the company aims to do with these new changes in Black Ops 4.
Let’s hope that dropping Black Ops 4 Single Player Campaign works out for Treyarch. That said what are your thoughts on the change? Let us know in the comments below.
