Will the untitled sequel, presently dubbed Avengers 4, take place right after where Avengers: Infinity War left off or will it continue the narrative after a considerable gap? This is one question that fans have been theorizing over in the past weeks and the answer has seemingly been provided by none other than the cast.
Take heed that the following content might possibly contain major spoilers, unless knowing the future does not bother you.
Speaking with the official Avengers: Infinity War magazine (via Twitter) in a recent interview, Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts) may have slipped a possible spoiler for the upcoming installment.
“She obviously starts as his dutiful assistant, and then the relationship evolves, and now this decade later they’re married, and they have a child,” said Paltrow. “Their relationship has evolved in all of the ways that great romances evolve.”
It is possible that the actress may have misspoken and her statement is being skewed without context. However, if it is true then her character was actually pregnant in Avengers: Infinity War. Since the birth of a child is not something that can happen so soon, Avengers 4 will potentially be set at least a year (or more) after Thanos dusted half of all life in the universe.
It should also be considered that there have been rumors about the timeline jumping five years ahead in the upcoming sequel. Should this come to be true, Avengers 4 will show just how the surviving superheroes have been coping with their loss all this time.
Avengers: Infinity War is now running in theaters worldwide and will open in China on May 11. The highly anticipated installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been reassessed to end up becoming the highest-grossing comic book adaptation of all time in the worldwide box office.
The untitled sequel, presently dubbed Avengers 4, is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.
