A few days ago Rockstar games released a new trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, which gave us a glimpse of the new Western adventure. Afterward, some journalists got the opportunity to witness the game and they revealed some in-game information regarding the HUD and the Honor system.
Select journalists had the opportunity to watch a 45-minute demo of Red Dead Redemption 2 at Rockstar North which revealed some interesting information.
According to Telegraph, The honor system is returning which was originally used in ”Red Dead Redemption”. This has an impact on settlements, traders, and other NPCs that treat you differently depending on your reputation (Honorable or Outlaw). However, you get to choose from different options.
In the demo, Arthur robs a fisherman’s camp and is confronted by the fisherman, which you can react to in different ways. You can shoot the fisherman, run away or threaten the man with violence and keep all the goods. The reputation affects how much shopkeepers charge for their goods. Apparently, you have to take care of the needs of the gang to some extent and make sure that it is well fed and rested.
As for the story, Rockstar Games wants to explain how the bad guys from “Red Dead Redemption” first became these people. Their transformation and the events that led to their status as outlaws should be revealed in the story.
In an interview, co-studio head Rob Nelson said “The fact is, we do not want to be better than everyone else, we want to be better than ourselves”.
Finally, it’s confirmed that the Red Dead Redemption 2’s HUD will be customizable, you can turn off all in-game icons and the signature Rockstar mini-map.
No words about the multiplayer yet but Rockstar confirmed that is in works and we will get a look at it later.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in between the times of 1899 and 19901 and is scheduled to release on October 26, 2018, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
