Buyers Beware Asus B360M-A Motherboard Doesn’t Support Intel Core i7 Or Core i9

AMD Ryzen has been giving Intel chips a tough time when it comes to performance and even the AM4 socket supports AMD Ryzen and upcoming Ryen 2000 products with each motherboard supporting every Ryzen product, however, this is something Intel has failed to achieve and now the upcoming Asus B360M-A doesn’t support Intel Core i7 or i9.

The Asus B360M-A motherboard supports Intel Pentium, Celeron, Core i5 and Coe i3 but doesn’t support Intel Core i7 or i9 which doesn’t send a good message to the consumer given that AMD is doing the opposite.

What this means is that Intel has not only been introducing a new socket with every couple of CPU generations and the 8th Gen Coffee Lake-H CPUs have the same socket as the 7th gen CPUs but, the 8th Gen CPUs don’t work on 7th gen motherboards.

Intel has been introducing new sockets every two CPU generation but it seems that Intel is segregating motherboards in a single generation with Asus B360M-A not supporting Core i7 and Core i9. This is according to Youtuber, Tech YES City, who reviewed the motherboard and found that the motherboard doesn’t support Core i7.

This is beyond my imagination how Intel is or will be getting away with this since modders were able to run Coffee Lake chip on Intel Skylake/Kaby Lake Motherboards.

According to modders, Intel is blocking Coffee Lake Chips to run on Skylake and Kaby Lake motherboards using a software which comes in in the form of CPU microcode. Modders have successfully bypassed the software to get the Coffee Lake CPU work on Skylake and Kaby Lake motherboards.

However, this Asus B360M-A doesn’t support the Core i7 could be the result of Intel planning to add support through a future BIOS update but, for now, this ASUS motherboard doesn’t support Intel Core i7.

What do you think of the ASUS motherboard not supporting the Core i7? Let us know in the comments.
