God Of War Demo Was Three Hours, But Only Covered 5 Percent Of The Game

Players will be in for the long haul when they pick up the God of War game on PS4 next month. According to a statement by Sony Santa Monica, despite the length of the God of War demo, which was three hours long, players will have only seen five percent of the game.

While God of War games have been grand in scope before, many of them have never been this big before, especially when back in the original trilogy a three hour God of War demo would have brought players through at least a third of the game before ending. If what the studio is saying is true, then the upcoming God of War is far bigger than any God of War game ever before.

Considering how much the game has changed since the original God of War games, ranging from the setting, to the gameplay, to Kratos’s attitude, and him having a son in the form of Atreus, the increased length shouldn’t be that much of a surprise.

Geoff Keighley apparently got to go hands-on with the game and was blown away by it, including the way it’s evolved not just the story and graphics, but also the combat and puzzles that apparently remain from the original series. Keighley even said that it might even be on the scale of Horizon Zero Dawn.

Since we got a 15 minute gameplay video yesterday, and are getting more and more information all the time, hopefully there’ll be a lot to do in the new God of War game and that it will have a great story to go with it.

In the meantime, players will still have to wait another month before the game comes out, since it comes out on April 20 of this year. Once that date rolls around, Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro owners can set out on another journey with Kratos.

Hopefully the full game will be able to live up to the God of War demo’s three hours of hype.
