AMD Ryzen 5 2500U With Vega 8 Running Mass Effect: Andromeda (Gameplay Video)
The AMD Ryzen 5 2500U is one of the AMD Ryzen Mobile chips that are highly anticipated right now and while we have seen the performance of these chips in different games, here you can check out how well the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U performs when running Running Mass Effect: Andromeda. This is a graphics intensive game so you can imagine why this is a big deal.
While AMD Ryzen 5 2500U is relatively powerful when compared to the Intel HD graphics, it is unable to run Mass Effect: Andromeda at 1080p 60 FPS but the fact that it can run the game at 720p, low settings at 30 FPS is pretty interesting keeping in mind that 30 FPS is the framerate at which the game runs on consoles.
The game is playable but if you are looking for 1080p 60 FPS then you will be disappointed. But do keep in mind that this is a laptop chip that we are talking about here. You can check out how well the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U runs Mass Effect: Andromeda in the video below:
If you go through the video you can see that the chip is able to run the game above 30 FPS most of the time but there are dip now and then. It is not unplayable and will get you through the game if you are on the go and need something to play. Other lighter titles like Overwatch and FIFA 18 run much better.
The AMD Ryzen 5 2500U is a mid-range chip and if you are looking for more power then you can opt for the 2700U or the G series of chips. You can check out how well the 2700U runs Tomb Raider below:
AMD is taking on the laptop market and is offering a lot of performance for the price and word has it that Nvidia is working on GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q design cards in order to compete in the gaming laptop space. This should be very interesting indeed and if you want to read more about all that then you can click here for further information.
AMD has had a great year and we have high hopes for the company in 2018 as well. Neil Spicer talked about how demand for processing power has increased and will continue to increase in the future as well. You can read all about what he had to say here.
Let us know what you think about the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U and whether or not you are interested in getting a laptop that is powered by one of these chips.
