We are only a week away from seeing The Frozen Wilds release as the first story-based expansion pack for Horizon Zero Dawn. Whatever details that Guerrilla Games was keeping to itself have started pouring out to get fans ready in time.
Speaking with Daily Star in a recent interview, the developer revealed that the content featured in the expansion pack will approximately take about 15 hours to complete. This includes the main story-line as well as several side-quests.
In addition, the Frozen Wilds will accompany a new “posed” photo mode. As the name suggests, players will be able to make Aloy hold different poses such as making snow angels on the ground.
Furthermore, the developer is adding a new skill tree with the expansion pack that introduces plenty of new abilities while mounted. This includes being able to forage for crafting materials and launching in the air for a powerful blow while on the move. It is unknown if the new skill tree will require ownership of the expansion pack or not.
The Frozen Wilds will be the only expansion pack to release for the game, with Guerrilla Games possibly starting work on a sequel. In a way, the singular post-release content pack was the result of fans asking the developer for more.
The Frozen Wilds is scheduled to release for Horizon Zero Dawn on November 7, exclusively for PlayStation 4. Sony will be bringing out a Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition a day before that.
