Yoko Taro Interested In NieR Automata Sequel But, It Might Be Completely Different

NieR Automata launched earlier this year with stellar reviews and while gamers are not happy with the studio not supporting the game with patches and updates, game director at Platinum Games is thinking about a NieR Automata sequel which might be a completely different game.

During the Q&A session at SEA Summit held in Singapore, Yoko Taro was asked if he would be interested in developing another NieR title to which is responded that he is interested in NieR Automata sequel and the sequel will be so different from the game that he will ruin it.

I think I’d imagine a NieR: Automata sequel that everyone is thinking about, then make something that is not that. I’m going to ruin it, is what I’m thinking.

Also, Yoko Taro might not be the only one thinking about the sequel as Square Enix is looking for script writers for a NieR related project.

There has not been any kind of support for the PC version of NieR Automata since its launch and players have to rely on the community fixes and mods to make the game look and feel playable. The textures in the game aren’t of the highest quality but, NieR Automata HD Texture Mod will fix that for you.

GPUnity is the one working on the upcoming mod and while it is still in alpha, the modder has rolled a version of it to the public.

However, Square Enix has addressed the issue why Platinum Games isn’t rolling any updates or patches to fix the game’s issue. According to Square Enix,  Platinum Games can fix these issues alone.

NieR Automata is an action RPG developed by Platinum Games for PC and PlayStation 4.
