Horizon Zero Dawn launched with critical acclaim and other developers have also praised the Guerrilla Games for their efforts on the game and Bethesda’s Pete Hines is among those who think Horizon Zero Dawn is “Unbelievable”.
Speaking with Gamesradar, Bethesda’s Vice President of PR and Marketing praised Horizon Zero Dawn and its developer Guerrilla Games for moving away from their comfort zone and creating something incredible.
If we didn’t have folks break from it then you don’t get Horizon: Zero Dawn. Like, how unbelievable is that game? And if [Guerrilla] just stayed on that path for what they were known for, you’d never get that game. Why would you ever think that [the creators of Killzone] would do crazy post-retro; futuristic but retro dinosaur. It might be my favorite game this year, and if they didn’t break from what they had been doing and try something different, you’d never get that. I think that’s true of a lot of studios, right? You don’t get The Last of Us if [Naughty Dog] just kept churning out Uncharted games.
Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the best games released for this generation and while it is a PS4 exclusive but, Xbox founder is very impressed by the game. According to Seamus Blackley, it is a spectacular game and it takes balls to make a game like Horizon Zero Dawn.
I want big release. 100 million Dollar bet” that requires a lot of courage. Blackley said Guerrilla is a great developer but that it takes “balls” to bring such projects to the market and that Yoshida “is the man” for sticking by it even if it wasn’t looking too good at times during the development.
While Guerrilla Games is currently working on an expansion for the game but, the studio is also considering a sequel to the critically acclaimed game. Aside from the consideration that the sequel might introduce a new protagonist, the studio aims to deliver a story that resonates deeply as the first one and more machines.
Horizon Zero Dawn is an open-world action adventure game developed by Guerrilla Games exclusively for PlayStation 4.
