Monster Hunter Stories Recipe Books Locations
You can acquire the recipe books as you play through the game. They give you recipes for a variety of items such as Potions, Antidotes, and Large Barrel Bombs.
You need these recipe books, as you cannot afford to buy these items from the store. Most of the books are collected by doing sub-quests.
Beginner’s Set
Includes Potion and Raw Meat recipe. Acquired by going through the story.
Rider’s Memo
Includes Paintball and Smoke Bomb recipes. Acquired by going through the story.
Mega Potions
Contains a recipe for, well you guessed it, mega potions. Acquired by completing Fruits of the Desert Subquest from the Traveling Merchant in Oasum.
Group Healing 101
Contains recipe for Life shoot. Acquired from Muffy at the Gildegaran Hunter’s Guild by clearing her Rubicund Rapscallion Subquest.
Group Healing: Int
Acquired from Scaredy Cat at the Koapni Village by clearing their Violet Venom Subquest.
Group Healing: Adv
Acquired from Captain Simone at the Hall of Scriveners by clearing his Infernal Emperor (+) Subquest.
Essence Vitale
Contains recipe for Vital Essence. Clear the Cooling Crystal Subquest from the Pruney Hunter at the Dark Rock Baths.
Cool and Healthy
Answer all three questions of Felyne in Albarax to acquire this.
Warm and Healthy
Contains Hot Mist. Acquired after clearing Secret to Well-Being Subquest from the Grandpa close to your house in Gildegaran.
Healer’s Comp V1
Recipes for Antidote, Anti-para Potion and Zest Pill. Mel at Gildegaran’s hunter guild will give it to you after completing Dance to my Tuna Subquest.
Healer’s Comp V2
Has the recipe for the energy drink and eye drops. Clear the Mighty Machalite Subquest from the Careless Hunter in Albarax.

Clear the Dragon Feeling Subquest from the Softhearted Hunter in Geo-Fulkright.

Has the recipes for Big Barrel, Sonic and Flash Bomb. Get this by completing Toxic Toadstool Subquest from the traveling merchant in Qasum.

Complete the Uroktor Hunting Subquest from the Softhearted Hunter in Geo-Fulkright .
Delicious Recipes
Has the recipes for Dragon Noodles and Extra-fresh Sushi. Acquired from the Worrywart Rider in Hakum Village after showing her a Bulldrome or other Fanged Beast Egg to clear her over.
Scrummy Recipes
Recipes for Shroom and Larva along with Tonguemato Salad. Obtained after clearing Vicious Vultures Subquest from the Achy Hunter at Darj Rock Baths.

Obtained after clearing A Royal Pain Subquest from the Perceptive Boy at Gildegaran.

Obtained after clearing Bashful Hunter Subquest from the Out of Your Shell quest at Geo-Fulkright.
