Street Fighter is one of the most popular and long running franchises in the game industry and is also one of the biggest franchises for Capcom. Recently, Capcom revealed that Ultra Street Fight 2 has been a smash hit on Nintendo Switch and it seems that Capcom is not stopping there as a listing of Street Fighter Anniversary has popped up.
The listing for Street Fighter Anniversary appeared on a German retailer, CoolShop, and the listing suggests that the game is in the works for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. While it is not confirmed but, it makes a lot of sense as this is the fighting game’s 30-year anniversary and Capcom has a history of re-releasing games.
Next major release from Capcom later this year is Marvel vs Capcom Infinite which will be available for PC and current gen consoles. While there is no release date announced for the game yet but, apparently the entire roster of the game has been leaked.
In related news, Many of you might remember that Tekken X Street Fighter was announced back in 2010 and since then the game has been in development hell.
According to Tekken 7 director Katsuhiro Harada, the time is not right for releasing the game as the best time for the game to launch is when everyone will have forgotten about the game, as this would be a better way in terms of marketing.
Capcom is also working on Monster Hunter World which will launch sometime in 2018. The game will launch for PC and current gen consoles and will be skipping handheld given that recent entries in the Monster Hunter franchise were released on handhelds. However, Capcom has explained the reason for skipping handhelds over consoles.
Monster Hunter World is scheduled to launch in 2018 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
