Fans are excited about the upcoming Rockstar Games’ title, Red Dead Redemption 2, however, the game has been delayed and fans are not too happy about it. While we won’t get to see the game for some time but there have been rumors about the game making rounds on the internet and another one has made its way to the internet.
This new rumor comes from the 4Chan user, Rockstar*108, who claims that he is one of the devs at Rockstar Games for 3 years but, clarified that he is not working on Red Dead Redemption 2. According to the dev, the upcoming game will be about Jack Marston, the son of John Marston from Red Dead Redemption.
According to the rumor, the game will take place 3 years after the events of Red Dead Redemption and Jack Marston is trying to piece together something that he found in his father’s journal. Jack will also meet his father’s old friends that will help him understand his father’s past.
However, take this as a grain of salt as it is just a rumor and Rockstar is yet to reveal anything related to the game’s story.
While fans are disappointed with the delay of the game but, according to Take-Two Interactive, the release window does not matter for Red Dead Redemption 2 for it to be successful. During the recent Take-Two earnings call, Take-Two president Strauss Zelnick said that in order for Red Dead Redemption 2 to be successful the launch window does not matter saying “For a title like this, I don’t think the launch window really matters”.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world western action adventure game in development at Rockstar Games and is scheduled to launch in fall 2017. The game is a console exclusive, however, according to a leak, we might see a PC port of the game.
