All SNES Classic Edition Pre-Orders Canceled By Walmart

Walmart has sent out e-mails to all who are effect by this cancellation explaining the reason behind canceling SNES Classic Edition pre-orders.

Nintendo fans are eagerly waiting for the launch of the SNES Classic Edition and many of them felt a rush of relief last week when they pre-ordered the console through Walmart. However, this relief was short lived since Walmart has canceled all those the SNES Classic Edition pre-orders.

Walmart has sent out e-mails to all who are effected by this cancellation explaining the reason behind canceling SNES Classic Edition pre-orders. According to Walmart, the pre-orders went live because of a glitch and also apologized for the mistake.

Unfortunately, due to a technical glitch, the Super Nintendo Classic Edition was mistakenly made available last Friday evening ahead of the official release date. We, regrettably, will have to cancel this item on your order. We know that this is incredibly disappointing to you, and we’re truly sorry for this mistake.

In related news, recently a prototype demo for a Rayman game for SNES has appeared online. The prototype demo for Rayman was uploaded by archivist Omar Cornut. The demo was uploaded by the archivist with the permission from Michel Ancel, who is working on Beyond Good And Evil 2.

The SNES Classic Edition pre-orders are yet to start in the US and there is a reason behind it. The reason that the console is not available for pre-order in the US is that it does not have an FCC approval yet.

Furthermore, Nintendo has revealed that the upcoming Classic edition of SNES is a virtual console of sorts. Nintendo, Satoshi Yamato was asked if there is a possibility of making Game Boy Advance titles available through retail, to which he replied that Nintendo is planning to make full use of its virtual console titles and added that SNES Classic Edition is a form of a virtual console.

The SNES Classic Edition will launch on September 29, 2017, in the US.
