Dawn of War 3 Resources

There are three major resources in DoW 3 as listed below

Requisition Points
You require Requisition Points to build basic buildings, infantry units, purchase vehicle upgrades, and more. To gather Requisition Points, you need to capture the Resource Points and build Requisition Generators on them.

Power
You require Power to purchase vehicles, upgrades, advanced buildings, and units. To gather Power, you need to capture the Resource Points and build Power Generators on them.

Elite Points
You require Elite Points to unlock Elites in addition to activating Super Abilities and continue to earn them during the course of a match – one Elite Point every two minutes into the match.

However, you can also acquire additional Elite Points by destroying the Shield Generators and Turrets.

Moreover, you can also build an Elite Point Generator on a Resource Point with an Elite Node. Doing this will net you an Elite Point every 90 seconds.

Finding Resource Points

To capture Resource Points easily, you’ll have to move any one of your units inside the capture radius of the Point and once that’s done, simply hold it there till the point where the Capture Timer is filled, which turns the Point into your team’s color.

Just keep an eye on your enemies as they’ll terminate the process if they’re caught interfering inside the capture radius.

After the capturing process is complete, you are able to build Resource Generators and grow your resources.

Just remember one thing, you can’t any gain additional resources without the Resource Generator. Therefore, your first task is to construct a Generator then gain your resources.

A simple math is used with the cost of building a Generator. Requisition Generator costs 20 Power with a 20% increase each time you build any further Generators. Power Generators costs 80 Requisition with a 20% increase each time you build an additional generator.

As for the Elite Points Generator, it costs 80 Requisition and 20 Power with a 20% increase in cost after every construction.

Each Resource Point can build a limited number of Generators, indicated on the HUD’s mini-map – near each Point you’ll see 1-3 small coloured dots.

The number of dots indicates the number of generators that can be built, with the colour indicating the type: yellow for Requisition, blue for Power, and purple for Elite Points.

There’s a limited number of generators build with resource points. You can use the mini-map to see the locations of the Resource Points.

Pay attention to the mini-map and you should also see two or three little dots next to a Resource Point – usually in purple for Elite Points yellow for Requisition and blue colors for Power.

These colored dots indicate the Resource Generator that you can build on top of a Resource Point.

Upgrading Resource Points

After building a Resource Generator on a Resource Point, you gain the option to upgrade it for 250 Requisition and 50 Power.

There are three upgrades in total and each upgrade provides an additional 25% income from the resources. When combined with Escalation Phases, you should easily have enough resources to sustain your army in the late game.

Many players get confused with how upgrading a Resource Point works. The only thing that upgrading does is increase the rate of a collected Requisition and Power.

It does not have any affect on Elite Points and a Resource Point having only one Elite Point Generator is not capable of upgrading.

Let’s be honest, Generators cost a lot and you can’t see them get damaged.

Therefore, its highly recommended to Install a Listening Post on it, which increases its defensive system and provides a small defensive turret that attacks any enemy coming in its radius. The Installation of the Listening Post costs 200 Requisition but its worth the try.

Capitalizing on the Escalation Phases

Escalation Phases in the game directly affect the HP of structures, resources, and refunds which is why it is important to understand them and formulate your strategy in accordance with them.

Escalation Phase #1
In the first Escalation Phase, units refund 25% of the resources upon dying.

Escalation Phase #2
During the second Escalation Phase, units refund 15% of the resources, you receive +50% add-on resources, all the structures gain +50% additional HP, and the Listening Posts gain +25% additional HP.

Escalation Phase #3
During the third Escalation Phase, units refund 5% of the resources, you receive +100% add-on resources, all the structures gain +100% additional HP, and the Listening Posts gain +50% additional HP.

Escalation Phase #4
During the third Escalation Phase, units refund 0% of the resources, you receive +150% add-on resources, all the structures gain +150% additional HP, and the Listening Posts gain +75% additional HP.
