Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay will FINALLY be getting a good reveal when The Game Awards begins on December 1, finally showing gamers a good idea of how the game will be playing when it comes out, even after the short bit of gameplay that came out at the Playstation Meeting in September.
Mass Effect: Andromeda finally got an honest-to-goodness trailer on November 7, also known as N7 Day to many BioWare and Mass Effect fans. Telling the setup of the game (players will be going to the Andromeda galaxy as part of a 600-year mission to colonize it in the time between Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3), the trailer introduced us to new enemies, new squadmates, and more. However, it lacked any real indication of how the game would play.
A new game and a new setting gives Bioware plenty of opportunities to switch up the Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay, and from what they’ve said in Game Informer’s expose about the game one of the ways they’ve switched it up is that players will now no longer be confined to a pre-set build, and will instead be able to build their character how they want.
As for actual gameplay footage, the game has been sorely lacking in that department. Though the Playstation Meeting that announced the Playstation 4 Slim and the Playstation 4 Pro included some small amount of gameplay, there was no combat in it, no introduction to the characters, and very little exposition about what exactly was going on.
Hopefully, at The Game Awards where the Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay will premiere, we’ll be getting something more substantial along the lines of what Dragon Age: Inquisition got when it was first given gameplay footage at PAX, showing how the Inquisition would claim keeps and how the Inquisitor would be making various decisions in the game.
