Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, the second of the pair of Transformer games that focused on the war between the Autobots and Decepticons before coming to Earth, has been released on the Xbox One and Playstation 4…for some reason. Both versions don’t seem to be very improved over the last-gen versions, though they do include all three of the game’s DLC packs.
Both games still got fairly positive reviews when they released, with critics praising the game’s story and gameplay. Numerous Autobots and Decepticons from the Transformers universe also make appearances, ranging from Optimus Prime and Grimlock to Megatron and Soundwave.
Hopefully this means that soon Transformers: War for Cybertron, the first of the two games, will also soon be coming to current-gen consoles. Rise of the Dark Spark, a tie-in game for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, might also be put on Xbox One and Playstation 4, though considering its fairly mixed reviews, that might not be as good of an idea as the other games.
The last very notable Transformers game to come out on current-gen consoles was Transformers: Devastation by Platinum Games. While it was a solid character action game it did get criticism for its 50 dollar price point despite being what was essentially an arcade game. As it may be one of the last good Transformers games we’ll be getting in a while, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is likely your best bet to play another solid Transformers title.
Currently Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and PC. If you have a console, but you don’t have a good computer, this is probably one of the best options you have to buy Fall of Cybertron if you’ve been wanting to play it for nostalgia’s sake or if you never got to play the game to begin with.
