Evolution of Video Game Controllers Documented in a Video

We have come a long way from the analog sticks to the first video game controllers that were introduced by Nintendo at the time of the NES, and onwards to where we are now with the Xbox One controller and the DualShock 4.

It has been one hell of a journey with the increase in the number of input methods being one thing that stood constant all the time (almost).

The video above documents the evolution of video game controllers starting way back in 1985 and going on to show off the latest peripherals as well as alternate methods of control like Kinect, and Virtual Reality devices.

Even if you know the timeline, this is a good video to see how they shaped up – except that the YouTuber has not included Steam Controllers in the list.
