Project Morpheus Release Rumour Reveals an Interesting Price

While a rumoured release date for Project Morpheus' release date and price may have been shot down, it raised an interesting question, what would you pay?

While there is no official release date for Project Morpheus a leak appeared to reveal not only that but a planned price, before being shot down. As the tweet it is based on has since been removed, we can only go by the quote here.

With Sony revealing a lot of their technology news at the IFA 2015 in Berlin. Project Morpheus was on show for people to try. The alleged leak suggested that the virtual reality headset will be released on January 29, 2016 for a price of €300.

If the date was true, and the headset was being released January 29, 2016 this would be big news, as would the price of 300 Euros (335 US Dollar). Leaks also claim that the official name for the headset will be RealEyes. This should be taken with a huge pinch of salt, as Sony themselves replied with:

This translates to:

“The price and availability of the Morpheus helmet have not yet been confirmed, then still a little patience!”

This does seem to shoot down the rumor, so there is doubt over the release date. What I find interesting though is the price range for the product. If that was the price would you be willing to pay that much to have a virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 4?

The price and the availability of games to play on it will be what decides the success of Project Morpheus, but when we’ll see it available for sale? If the date is anywhere near the rumor above, I’d guess we would be hearing about it soon.
