With the release of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection one game that was missing was the original Borderlands. It looks like if you still own the Xbox 360 version you’ll be able to play it on the Xbox One soon.
When the Handsome Collection was released, many people noticed that Borderlands wasn’t included. With the news that the game is going to be made into a movie thought has one again turned to the original game. Now is the perfect time to take a trip to Pandora and see where it all began. Most of us will have to wait till November to be able to use the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility functionality though.
Commenting on the announcement, 2K President Christoph Hartmann said:
“We are proud to support Xbox One Backward Compatibility by bringing the complete, original Borderlands to Xbox One, including all downloadable content,” said 2K President Christoph Hartmann. “We know many of our fans have put in dozens, even hundreds, of hours exploring the world of Pandora on their Xbox 360, and now they can continue their adventures on Xbox One.”
As with Borderlands 2, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel the original game had plenty of DLC updates. One of the Pre-Sequel’s main characters, Athena was even originally introduced in The Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC as a Lance Assassin. She has since found fame in the Pre-Sequel as well as playing a part in Telltale Games’ Tales from the Borderlands.
I’m sure plenty of fans will welcome the news that they’ll be able to play Borderlands on their Xbox One, which will finally complete Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on the next generation console.
