Misery Dev Team Provides Evidence Against West Games’ Areal, Is it a Scam?

By   /   Jun 26, 2014

Areal since its announcement has been in the eyes of internet due to number of negative reasons and today Misery Mod guys, who were responsible for recreating S.T.A.L.K.E.R. are claiming that this new game from West Games Studio is a fraud.

“Misery” claims that all the pledges that have been done for game’s Kickstarter are going towards Leonid Kovtun, but there is no information provided about him on the game’s main page.

Who is Leonid Kovtun? What is his role in the project? and why is his name not listed on the main page? All these questions are relevant and important, because Amazon Payments authorized the future pay in benefit of that person, Leonid Kovtun, a natural person and not a company or brand.

Additionally, West Games is based in… Las Vegas?! How far from claimed team nationality can we possibly get here?

West games was only reserved as a company name on May 20 2014 and will expire 20th of August 2014 by Leonid Kovtun of Nevada, Las Vegas.

They have also provided another proof of Areal developer being fake as he comments on the game’s release date, which is September 2015 and Misery claims that there is no way to complete development on a whole game from scratch to finish in the period of one year.

Moreover, they commented about the stretch goal, which after reaching the original goal of 50,000 asks for another 50K so that developer can add more flora and fauna to the game, which Misery claims can be done in two days, without much of a problem and doesn’t require this kind of sum.

This issue is getting extremely serious for West Games and they will have to respond to these allegations before it’s too late for their game.

At the time of writing, Areal had received over 30,000 in funding, but now people must be getting curious about the developers since these new revelations.

What is your opinion on this matter? Do you think West Games is scamming people?
