Microsoft has officially revealed the specs for its upcoming beast of a console, Xbox One Scorpio. While the console sounds amazing, according to Xbox head, Xbox One Scorpio surpassed the team expectations in terms of performance.
Speaking with Gamasutra, Xbox head, Phil Spencer, said that the team was surprised by the performance of Xbox One Scorpio as it was beyond their expectations.
It’s easier to stand on stage with a 6 teraflop t-shirt, and people kind of focus on one thing, but the platform is obviously much more complex than a single number. I think it’s fair to say we’ve been, um, surprised by the performance gains that Scorpio is giving us. Beyond our expectation when we designed the hardware. The engines that we’ve been bringing through and porting over, one, they’ve ported over fairly quickly, as third-parties have been coming in. And our own first-parties. The porting has been fast.
While Microsoft has revealed the specs and there is no doubt that Scorpio is a powerful console, however, the main issue the game line up which compared to the PS4 game line-up is a bit week. But Microsoft has a lot of games planned for Xbox One Scorpio.
According to Microsoft’s Albert Penello, there will be games for Xbox One Scorpio and E3 2017 will be all about games.
That’s gonna be the big thing, games, games, games. Look, I get it, I hear the feedback, I want everybody to know, games. It’s coming, that’s … today was about the specs, today we told you what the box does, you’re gonna see games, we know.
Xbox One Scorpio will launch this fall and Microsoft is yet to reveal the price for the console.
