CD Projekt RED Is Thinking Of The Witcher 4, They’ve Not Abandoned The Series

The Witcher is one of the most successful and known series in the world and CD Projekt RED isn't done with the series yet. The Witcher 4 coming?

[Update] It seems like the interview was old and while there might be plans for the next Witcher, there is nothing concrete for the time being.

Original Story

The Witcher is one of the most successful and known series in the world. The third chapter – the most acclaimed one – was the end to the adventures of Gerald, but CD Projekt RED isn’t done with the series yet.

Adam Kicinski, CEO of CD Projekt RED, has recently visited a Polish TV and talked about the possibility of a new chapter. According to him, it woulnt’d be fair for the team not to make The Witcher 4; they are thinking of it, and they’ve not definitvely abandoned the series.

It would be unfair to fans not to make one . We have been working in this universe for more than a decade now and I do not think it’s going to be the end of it. It is still early to talk about it, but we have not forgotten this series.

At the time we are writing, the Polish team hasn’t started working yet on The Witcher 4 since they are developing Cyberpunk 2077. However, it’s not crazy to think that a new Witcher game might be releasing sometime in 2019-2020. Don’t you think so?

By the way, did you know that CD Projekt were once merely distributors and they started off developing video games with no idea of how to make them? It has been revealed by Marcin Iwiński, the co-founder of the company.

I started the company with a friend from high school, Michał Kiciński. We started as game distributors, but in all honesty, we weren’t that good at distribution. We were very good at games, at picking games and being the first to localize them for Poland.

They truly wanted to make something special, and thanks to the Witcher book series they’ve reached the mainstream crowd.
