Over the past few months, we have heard a number of reports mentioning that an Assassin’s Creed is going to be set in Egypt. Ubisoft nor any of the big 3 (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo) has confirmed anything of the sort.

However, it seems all such reports could actually turn out to be true if a reporting slip-up from IGN France is any indication. Moreover, this Assassin’s Creed game may be exclusive to Nintendo Switch. The Assassin’s Creed in question may not be a mainstream Assassin’s Creed but something that has been designed for Nintendo Switch.
Kotaku is often responsible for leaking Assassin’s Creed games early and the publication has already mentioned an Egypt-based game this year. However, their information could be a little off this time as this game may not be a part of the mainline series. Instead, Ubisoft and Nintendo may have partnered to develop Assassin’s Creed for Nintendo Switch.
The image you see above was posted by IGN France on its Twitter page but it was later deleted. It shows the release date for Assassin’s Creed Egypt as March 24. AC games have a history of releasing in Fall or Autumn which is an indication that this game is not only exclusive but also a launch window title for Nintendo Switch.
An Assassin’s Creed game set in Egypt should not be exclusive to one platform. Needless to say, even though this information came from IGN France, it is best to take it with a grain of salt until official confirmation.
Nintendo Switch is set for release sometime in March.
