Final Fantasy XV Gil Farming

Final Fantasy XV Gil Farming Tips to help you make some easy money in the game for buying weapons and healing items.

FFXV’s in-game currency Gil is hard to come by. Due to the realistic approach of the game, you cannot expect to find a lot of Gil by slaying monsters or even completing the Main Missions for that matter.

On the other hand, you need a lot of Gil to survive i.e. purchasing healing items, weapons, and more. To fulfil all your monetary needs in Final Fantasy XV, there are some things that you can do which is what this guide is all about.

Final Fantasy XV Gil Farming Tips

In our Final Fantasy XV Gil Farming Tips, we have discussed some of the ways you can use to increase your Gil bank in the game.

Put the Treasure in Your Inventory to Good Use

Throughout the course of the game, you get yourself an immense amount of treasure. You cannot only get some by heading to the ‘Treasure Locations’ marked on your map, but also by defeating enemies and completing objectives i.e. Hunting Contracts, etc.

Instead of just wasting all the treasure sitting in your inventory, you need to consider selling it to make some green. The amount of Gil earned by selling treasure varies, but you can earn thousands of Gil for some pieces.

To make the most out of this method, you should definitely consider exploring your surroundings.

Complete Hunting Contracts

As mentioned earlier, completing the Hunting Contracts in the game gets you some treasure which you can sell for Gil. However, there are some Hunting Contracts in the game which reward players with a decent amount of Gil.

To start, you need to head over to a local restaurant and speak with the owner. I highly recommend keeping the ‘Recommended Level’ in mind, otherwise, it is a waste of time.

If you have not explored the in-game world, completing the Hunting Contracts is possibly the best method for earning Gil early in the game. Another thing I recommend is taking on contracts which say ‘Morning’ or ‘Anytime’ as the ‘Night’ ones can be pretty challenging at times.

Complete Optional Quests

Completing Main Missions in the game may not reward you with a decent amount of Gil most of the times, but the Optional Quests are completely another story. You start an Optional Quest by heading to ‘?’ on your map and speaking with the Quest Giver.

Optional Quests, in Final Fantasy XV, range from defeating enemies to simple fetch-quests. It is important to understand that not all Optional Quests in the game reward you with Gil; there are some which reward with EXP and treasure.

You can, however, simply sell the treasure – as mentioned above – and earn some decent amount of Gil.

When it comes to Optional Quests, one of the most rewarding ones are Vyv’s Photography Quests. These Optional Quests basically require you to take pictures of landmarks scattered all across the in-game world.

In order to complete one, you simply need to take a picture of a landmark and return to Vyv – as simple as that! Similar to Hunting Contracts, try avoiding the ones at ‘Night’ because of dangerous monsters lurking out there.

Get into Carrot-Selling Business

After you head to a cabin in Cape Caem, you learn the ability to farm carrots. After acquiring carrot seeds, plant them in the designated area, wait for a night, and see them grow. I highly recommend waiting for some time for more carrots to grow before harvesting them.

Once you have harvested all of them, you need to take the carrots to the restaurant owner located near the tree and offer to sell your carrots. You cannot only sell your carrot for a decent amount of Gil, but also exchange them for some good in-game items.
