(Update) Nintendo Duo Might Be the Next Gaming Machine from Nintendo

Nintendo NX may actually be called Nintendo Duo, according to a leaked image from Nintendo's Software partners briefing. Reveal expected soon?

Original: Nintendo NX rumors have been around for almost a year now and today we have another one. Nintendo NX may actually be called Nintendo Duo, according to an image circulating online.

Credibility of this image can be brought to question and it wouldn’t the first time someone used photoshop to add fuel to the fire so we remain skeptical.

However, we are hopeful that Nintendo will break radio silence soon.

Nintendo NX is the internal name for the company’s next gaming machine. The console/handheld hybrid is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Analysts claim that Nintendo will discuss its new gaming machine before the end of the year. Nintendo is aiming for a March 2017 release window. The console apparently supports cartridges and 4K steam among other features.

1080p and 60fps are being used by the marketing teams in relation to gameplay on to the console portion. I’ve heard unconfirmed rumblings of 900p for the infamous hybrid part of the device.

Take these features with a grain of salt as they are yet to be confirmed by the company. However, many credible sources have confirmed the use of cartridges.

By now, Nintendo may have shipped dev kits to developers. The good news is that publishers like EA and Ubisoft are interested in developing for Nintendo NX.

The Pokemon Company has already pledged support for Nintendo Duo. The Pokemon Company is going release mainstream Pokemon games on the platform.

Nintendo Duo seems like an appropriate name for this machine considering how it is 2 in 1 device. But we should wait for official word from the company.

Nintendo is placing all its bets on NX and hopes that it would bring the company back in the console space.
