In today’s video, we discuss something subjective – are video game remasters good or bad? And...
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Graphics Are Ugly; Battlefield Devs
Update: Roland Smedberg has apologized for calling Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Graphics ugly.
Original Story: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare graphics aren’t the best this franchise has to offer. Are they better than Black Ops 3 and Advanced Warfare? If not better they aren’t worse too.
However, some devs around the internet, especially those involved with Battlefield, aren’t refraining from taking jabs at the latest Call of Duty reveal. For instance, DICE Video & Media Editor Roland Smedberg said that: “Today I watched the new COD trailer. How Quaint! Those cute little free-cam shots, precious 2010 graphics and grade school editing! Quaint!”
He also took a shot at depth of field, saying it was ugly and lighting was dull. While sharing his opinions about the latest trailer of COD he promoted the reveal of Battlefield 5, claiming that “come Friday the internet will melt.”
Randy Evans, the talented Senior Video & Media Director/Editor at DICE, joined the brutal shots at COD and insulted the game’s visuals by comparing it to something we would have played 10 years ago.
He further added: “Just putting some final touches on a little thing for Friday. The internet is going to crumble!”
While we aren’t really big fans of COD games here or fell in love with what they showed yesterday but the aforementioned are highly unprofessional comments, using the opportunity just to promote the coming Battlefield 5 reveal.
Being humble takes you places.
EA DICE devs aren’t the only ones here, David Goldfarb who is the Co-founder/CCO of the Outsiders, writer, game designer, worked on Payday 2, Bad Company 1/2, BF3, Killzone 2, Mirrors Edge and others said: “Space Hulk: Deathwing looks better than COD infinite whatever. There I said it”
I hope Goldfarb’s next game looks better than COD Infinite Warfare.
Battlefield 5 reveal is scheduled for May 6 and we are hearing that it may feature Nvidia Pascal specific optimizations. We will have details for you this Friday.
