Uncharted 4 DLC Plans are Still Not Final at Naughty Dog
Uncharted 4: Thief’s End will be coming out on May 10, bringing an end to the adventures of our favorite treasure hunter.
Though Naughty Dog has a great deal of faith in the performance of the game, and even have story DLC plans, they don’t have any idea of what exactly that Uncharted 4 DLC will involve.
Uncharted 4 itself will be focusing on Nathan Drake’s efforts to find the ancient lost pirate colony of Libertatia and its stash of gold, on Madagascar. This journey will take Nathan not only to the jungles of the island, but also to the African savannah and cities as Nathan works with his long-lost brother Sam Drake.
The single-player Uncharted 4 DLC, however, is another story. Or rather, a lack of a story.
“There are still some vague ideas that we are considering, the final Uncharted 4 is fairly conclusive, and we do not want to touch it too. The spirit of this add-on will be the same as Left Behind. “
“Left Behind” in this instance refers to Naughty Dog’s previous smash hit The Last Of Us, which released Left Behind as a story DLC that takes place between main character Joel’s impalement-by-rebar at a university in Colorado and him waking up with the two of them in winter.
Left Behind focused on Ellie and her relationship with her best friend Riley, who was bitten by a cordyceps zombie along with Ellie. However, while Ellie was immune to the virus, Riley was not and died.
If I had to hazard a guess I would say anything that goes into the same territory as Left Behind would be focusing on the relationship between Nathan and Sam, who has been in prison for fifteen years while Nathan escaped from the same situation that saw him thrown in prison.
What the DLC will end up being is yet to be seen as long as Naughty Dog doesn’t have any ideas, but that can wait until Naughty Dog is ready to release it.
