Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 was delayed, according to Japanese magazine Famitsu, because Tecmo Koei wanted to ‘further improve’ on the quality of the game.

No, it wasn’t because some of the bikini designs for some of the female characters were too tight.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 was delayed, according to Japanese magazine Famitsu, primarily because Tecmo Koei wanted to ‘further improve’ on the quality of the game.

The development team wasn’t entirely satisfied with the overall quality of the game, and decided that it could do with some refinements, which is why the release date of the game was pushed forward nearly a month from the one originally intended.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 was expected to be released on February 25, but an announcement was made a few days ago about the game’s release date being delayed till March 24.

The fighting game will arrive on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita consoles in Japan. It is already currently available for pre-order on Play-Asia. The Asian version of the game will come with English subtitles as well.

Despite its popularity in the West, there doesn’t seem to be any indication of a western release of the title. Last year a petition was also released requesting a western release of the title.

Unfortunately, as of now it seems like the request has fallen to deaf years, since Tecmo Koei has not even hinted at a release in the western market.
