Final Fantasy XV release date

Final Fantasy XV is a massive open world game but according to Square Enix, the game uses the best of both open world and linear titles.

Directer Hajime Tabata revealed that Final Fantasy’s story is not 100% open world, but “it’s also not a pull along the rails kind of story.”

Each of the game’s region will move your journey forward, Tabata said that we can consider Final Fantasy XV a hybrid of open and linear games. These two approaches will be used to portray the story and characters of the game, but the player is free to move through the open world.

As you travel through each region, you’ll see different kinds of enemies and will take different paths that make you do unique things in each one of them. As you move through each region, the options for character growth and the different skills will start branching out as well.

Tabata added:

Each region will move the journey forward. How the story is handled, it’s not 100 percent pure open-world, but it’s also not a pull along the rails kind of story.

Moreover, players will also be able to travel by train during certain missions but we don’t know if train rides are going to be available outside of the main quests.

We’ll have more for you on Final Fantasy XV.

FFXV has been in development for a long time and is expected to arrive this year. Development is going smoothly, beta version is working well and is heading to debug phase.

Square Enix will announce a release date this March.
