New WWE 2K16 Gameplay Footage Reveals Modified Submission System
With the release of WWE 2K16 fans are hoping for some new updates that will improve the game. While hope may be low, a new video from the WWEDev YouTube account may show some interesting updates to the submission system.
Showing the newly revealed Bret Hart in the ring applying his Sharpshooter submission move. His addition to the roster was revealed along with:
- Billy Gunn
- Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart
- The British Bulldog
- Cactus Jack
- Damien Sandow
- D’Lo Brown
- Dude Love
- The Honky Tonk Man
- Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts
- Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart
- Kama Mustafa
- Ken Shamrock
- Paul Wight
- Shane McMahon
- Shawn Michaels
- Vince McMahon
Also in the video we appear to see The Honky Tonk Man, also on the list above. More importantly though we see the new submission system. Seemingly using a system that is inspired by UFC Undisputed this replaces the more simplistic version that WWE 2K15 employed. If anything, this is a good sign that things may be changing for the better.
Seeing Hart performing the Sharpshooter, if submissions feel like they matter more this may be a positive move for the game. If anything what fans really need to see right now is a game making positive changes to the wrestling game. Something that it really needs right now.
With the new wrestlers revealed it is interesting that they picked many Attitude Era wrestlers for this release. This is probably to keep the fans happy who see this as one of the most successful times for WWE. With a roster that will include around 120 superstars there are still plenty of reveals to come.
What are your thoughts on the new gameplay footage from WWE 2K16? Do they make you hopeful of an improvement from last year?
