While playing the amazing Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, many of us thought about another installment at some point. It’s the most addictive RPG and we all would love to see more of it. However, that won’t happen, at least for a while.
The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt RED is planning to give the series some rest. They are currently focused on Cyberpunk 2077 and say that they haven’t even given The Witcher 4 a thought.
According to CEO Marcin Iwinski:
It deserves some rest. The past 10 years the team has been working on swords and castles and medieval Slavic monsters. So I think it’s time for some guns, androids, and some ammo. And a necropolis. So this is what we’ll be working on.
He added:
We definitely are not annualizing a franchise or anything–it’s about the experience. The world of The Witcher is gigantic and it’s great to tell these stories, but I don’t know when this will happen.
The Witcher 3 was a huge success and developers shouldn’t ice the series permanently. Fans want to see more but we should all prepare ourselves for a new hero, as CD said previously that Geralt’s story won’t continue beyond The Witcher 3.
A new hero is welcomed, but it is safe to say that we won’t see him for another 7-to-8 years.
