PES 2016 Confirmed 1080p, Will Metal Gear Solid V Manage it Too?
Last month we reported on news that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and PES 2016 may run at 1080p and 60 frames per second. While there was doubt from many that this would be achievable, the doubters may have been wrong to be so negative.
Adam Bhatti, PES European Product Manager has taken to Twitter to confirm that PES 2016 will be running at 1080p:
We got there thankfully, Xbox One #PES2016 will be 1080p 👍

While this doesn’t confirm that it is also running at 60 frames per second it does add credibility to the previous claims to the fact. Hopefully this also means that Metal Gear Solid V will also be running at the same as they both run on the Fox engine.
A lot is being said about the new SDK for the Xbox One right now, and the potential of DirectX 12. If the changes given to the developers are allowing for games to run at 1080p/60fps this is a potential game changer for the console.
This doesn’t mean that Xbox One will suddenly be greater competition to the Playstation 4 though. As Sony’s console has built up a strong fan base and has proven itself many times to be the better console, nothing can cause this to suddenly change in the minds of gamers.
Can the Xbox One catch up to the popularity of Playstation 4 though? This can only be something that is proven in time. Though a better performing Xbox One can only be a good thing for gamers.
What are your thoughts on potential Xbox One performance upgrade? Does this make the console a more interesting contender against the Playstation 4? Let us know your thoughts below.
